Camouflage

Inspired by Stan Ridgway's "Camouflage," I made this ballpoint pen sketch, which turned into a 1960s Pop Art-style comic book panel of an awfully big Marine in the jungles of Vietnam. As with a lot of my stuff, the textures are added from the True Grit Texture supply pack for Procreate. Highly recommended....

Space Is A Cold Place

A 1950s retro-style space illustration, a collage reminiscint of and stolen from vintage magazine images.  The stars, though countless, offer no warmth—just silent witnesses to the isolation that stretches endlessly in every direction. Despite the era’s stylized optimism, there's an eerie quality to the illustrations of space of that time, which I tried to recapture in this composition, a tension between faded color and cosmic desolation.
