Another Procreate project. This digital painting captures a mood of quiet tension. The man's relaxed but heavy posture and distant gaze suggest a reflective or resigned state of mind. Thick, expressive brushstrokes add a sense of unease and blur the boundary between figure and setting. I tried to capture a mood reminiscent of post-impressionism and Van Gogh. The man was based on Albert Camus, but put on more and more weight the longer the painting process took....
